Liebenthal - island of peace and development in a time of war

Lesson on drawing Liebenthal through my eyes
Lesson on drawing Liebenthal through my eyes

In the warm season, our farm comes to life. Everything here is green, growing, blooming, ripening....

We regularly bring groups of children and teenagers to Liebenthal to spend their weekends here or take part in a camp during the vacations.

The shelling of Odessa unfortunately became more frequent and the beaches of the Black Sea were inaccessible for vacations. Therefore, the farm in Liebenthal became the optimal place to organize children's leisure time and restore their health. The farm's remoteness from critical infrastructure and military facilities contributes to a comfortable, calm atmosphere for normalization and restoration of children's mental health.

The weekend includes art therapy classes, an introduction to business planning, and a tour of interesting farm businesses. Here children have an opportunity to have a break from the hustle and bustle of the city, air anxiety, general atmosphere of tension and make the first steps in their self-realization.

During the classes they learn what strategic thinking is, acquire teamwork and brainstorming skills, generate business ideas, and familiarize themselves with successful business cases. During this season, 73 children and teens visited the farm.

We also implemented a special summer training camp program for teenagers from families affected by the war. The main focus is on psychosocial support and creation of conditions for socialization and recreation of children.

Such a camp is of great importance during this period, as children left behind in Ukraine often experience anxiety, fear and uncertainty about their future, as well as feeling alienated. We help to develop soft life skills, reduce anxiety and overcome post-traumatic phenomena.

As part of the program, we work to improve communication skills, social and economic literacy. All the knowledge and skills learned can be applied in practice, no matter what circumstances the student will face in the future.

Close contact of teenagers with mentors and their total immersion helps to stabilize their psycho-emotional state. Structured daily routines and visits to interesting places allow them to immerse themselves in an atmosphere of stability and positivity.

This activities not only allow teenagers to learn the basics of agribusiness, but also gives them the opportunity to interact with their peers, shift their focus and reboot in a healthy atmosphere of friendly community, countryside peace and tranquility.
