Learning Beyond Classrooms — MSW Final Year Students from Maulana Azad National Urdu University, Hyderabad, During Their Study Tour Visit to Janani Home on 28th January 2026
Education becomes truly meaningful when theory meets practice. In this spirit, we were delighted to welcome the MSW Final Year students from Maulana Azad National Urdu University, Hyderabad, to Janani Home for Girls as part of their academic study tour. Their visit was not just an institutional exposure, but a valuable learning experience that bridged classroom knowledge with real-life social work practice.
The students, accompanied by their faculty members, visited Janani Home to understand the practical dimensions of child care, rehabilitation, community development, and institutional management. As aspiring social workers, they had already studied various concepts such as child rights, case work, group work, community organization, counseling techniques, and welfare policies. However, witnessing these principles in action provided them with deeper clarity and perspective.
During the interactive session, the team was introduced to the mission and objectives of Janani Home, an initiative dedicated to supporting abandoned, vulnerable, and underprivileged girl children. They learned about the holistic care model followed at the Home, which includes safe shelter, formal education, nutritious meals, healthcare support, emotional well-being, life skills training, and value-based upbringing. The students showed keen interest in understanding the admission procedures, documentation processes, rehabilitation strategies, and follow-up mechanisms.
A guided tour of the campus gave them insight into the daily routine of the children and the structured environment that ensures discipline, safety, and growth. The visitors interacted warmly with the children, creating moments of joy and connection. Such interactions not only uplift the children but also help future social workers understand the importance of empathy, patience, and ethical practice in their profession.
The discussion also covered challenges faced by child care institutions, including financial sustainability, compliance requirements, community perceptions, and the emotional complexities involved in handling sensitive cases. The students actively participated, asked thoughtful questions, and shared their reflections. It was heartening to see their commitment to social justice and their desire to contribute meaningfully to society.
For Janani Home, hosting MSW students is always a mutually enriching experience. While students gain practical exposure, the institution benefits from fresh perspectives, academic insights, and youthful enthusiasm. Such study tours strengthen the bond between academic institutions and field organizations, ensuring that social work education remains grounded in reality.
We sincerely appreciate Maulana Azad National Urdu University, Hyderabad, for choosing Janani Home as part of their study tour itinerary. We hope that this visit has inspired the students to pursue their profession with compassion, integrity, and dedication.
Learning truly goes beyond classrooms when hearts connect with purpose. We wish the MSW final year students great success in their future endeavors and look forward to continued collaboration in nurturing socially responsible professionals.
