Ayudha Pooja Celebrations at Prime Trust
Ayudha Pooja is a traditional Hindu festival celebrated primarily in South India, especially in Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, and Kerala. It falls during the Navaratri festival, typically on the ninth day, known as Maha Navami.
The celebration is a form of thanksgiving, where tools, instruments, and vehicles used for work are cleaned, decorated, and worshipped. This includes everything from machinery in factories to books, computers, and farming equipment, symbolizing the respect for the tools that aid in daily life and work. Workers, artisans, and students offer prayers for success and prosperity in their respective fields.
During the pooja, families and businesses arrange their tools and belongings neatly, decorate them with flowers, and apply turmeric and vermilion. Offerings such as fruits, sweets, and coconuts are made, and prayers are chanted to seek blessings from the divine for productivity and safety.
The day is also marked by a spirit of joy and gratitude, as communities come together to honor their labor and tools of trade.
Prime Trust celebrated Ayudha Pooja on Thursday the 10th October 2024 at all its project sites. The employees and workers were honoured with gifts.
