Threading Change, One Stitch at a Time!

Threading Change, One Stitch at a Time!

At Prime Educational and Social Trust, empowerment begins with opportunity — and often, with a single stitch. The women of our Akshaya Self Help Group and Tailoring Centres are redefining what it means to be independent, resilient, and resourceful.

Many of these women come from marginalized backgrounds where education and employment opportunities are limited. Through our tailoring and skill development programs, they are now learning valuable vocational skills that open the doors to self-reliance and dignity. Every thread they weave and every garment they craft represents not just fabric and fashion — but freedom, confidence, and transformation.

Our tailoring centres provide hands-on training in cutting, stitching, embroidery, and basic business skills. Women learn how to manage small enterprises, take up tailoring orders, and even train others in their communities. The Akshaya Self Help Group goes beyond skill-building — it fosters sisterhood, mutual support, and collective progress. Members save together, access small loans, and support each other through life’s challenges.

For many participants, this journey is deeply personal. Once confined by financial hardship and limited opportunity, they now proudly contribute to their family income, support their children’s education, and inspire others to follow in their footsteps.

Your generous support helps us provide sewing machines, materials, and expert trainers to expand these programs. With your help, we can reach more women, especially from rural and underserved communities, enabling them to stand tall and dream big.

Together, we are not just sewing clothes — we are stitching stories of hope, weaving dreams of progress, and tailoring a better tomorrow for women and their families
