A full day medical camp at Janani Home
A full-day Medical Camp was successfully organized at Janani Home, bringing essential healthcare services to the children residing in the home as well as to the underserved families of the Colas Nagar community. The initiative aimed to ensure that vulnerable populations— especially children, women, and elderly individuals—receive access to timely and preventive healthcare. The camp offered a comprehensive range of services, including dental check-ups, eye examinations, and general medical consultations, all provided by experienced medical professionals who volunteered their time and expertise for a worthy cause.
The programme was inaugurated by Hon. MLA Mr. Anibal Kennedy, whose presence added immense value to the event. His encouragement and support reflected the government's commitment toward improving health access for marginalized communities. We express our sincere gratitude to him for taking the time to join us, interact with the beneficiaries, and appreciate our ongoing efforts in community health development.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to the medical partners whose dedicated involvement made this initiative possible. Agarwal Eye Hospital deployed a team of qualified ophthalmologists and support staff who conducted detailed eye screenings, tested visual acuity, and identified cases requiring further treatment or corrective lenses. Their expertise ensured that children and adults with vision concerns received early detection and proper guidance.
Vel Dental Clinic played a crucial role by providing thorough dental examinations for all participants. Many children from underserved backgrounds do not have regular access to dental care, making this service particularly important. The team carried out oral hygiene assessments, identified cavities and gum issues, and educated the children on proper brushing and dental habits. Their friendly and child-sensitive approach helped reduce anxiety among young participants.
Be Well Hospitals contributed significantly by managing the general medical check-ups. Their doctors conducted physical examinations, measured vitals, and provided consultations for various minor ailments. They also offered guidance on nutrition, hygiene, and preventive health practices—an essential component for families with limited access to health education. Cases requiring follow-up care were referred to the hospital for continued support.
The camp witnessed active participation from the children of Janani Home, women from the neighborhood, and elderly members of the community. For many, this camp served as a rare opportunity to receive medical attention without financial barriers. Early diagnosis and preventive care provided during such camps help reduce long-term health risks, improve overall well-being, and empower individuals to make informed decisions about their health.
This medical camp is part of Prime Trust’s ongoing efforts to build a healthier and more resilient community. By collaborating with healthcare institutions, government representatives, and volunteers, we aim to bring essential services closer to those who need them most. Events like these demonstrate the power of collective action and the positive impact it can bring to society.
Together, we move one step closer to creating healthier, stronger, and more empowered communities.
