Amanda was the civilian spouse accompanying a US Military member in Europe. Her abusive partner withheld food, transportation, money and basic necessities from Amanda.
He didn't hit her or leave bruises but she and her baby were suffering. His abuse and coercive control were difficult to prove and it was his word against hers.
She reported the abuse to the Family Advocacy Program. Her abusive spouse denied her claims.
We spent several weeks communicating with Amanda so she could understand possible actions and outcomes if she decided to stay abroad or return to the USA. She decided to flee home back to her parents' home in the USA.
Amanda and her baby are safe at home. Her abusive spouse is trying to fight legally to force her to return her baby abroad, We have connected her to legal support and other services in her area.
Without your belief in our project, victims like Amanda would not have anyone to confide in who understands her situation and can offer support, guidance and resources to live their lives without abuse.
