When Angie called us in February, she was afraid to speak to an advocate at the base. She wanted to speak to someone but, because of how bad the abuse from her husband was, she knew her report would not be kept restricted. Our case manager Ava understands how traumatic the abuse has been for Angie. After a couple of months, Angie decided it was time for her to leave with her son. She didn't want him to grow up thinking abuse was normal. Ava worked with a domestic violence advocate on the military base overseas and they were able to get Angie and her son to a safe place
Angie thanked us over and over again. We want to thank you on Angie's behalf, because we know that without donations like yours, we would not have been able to help Angie.
If you are able to, we hope you will consider making another donation to this project this Mother's Day to help other military moms in crisis overseas.
We wish you and the mothers in your life a happy Mother's Day!
