Summary

This campaign aims to restore the livelihoods of farmers in Al-Maland village, Idlib, Syria, who lost their orchards in a devastating wildfire. By providing seedlings, tools, and training, the project will help them replant their lands, revive agricultural production, and secure sustainable income. It will also raise community awareness on fire prevention, building resilience and hope for families struggling after this disaster.

Challenge

The June 2025 wildfire destroyed hundreds of olive, apricot, peach, apple, and pomegranate trees in Al-Maland, Syria. For farmers who rely on these orchards as their only income, the loss is devastating, with damages reaching $5,000 per acre. Without urgent support, dozens of families risk falling deeper into poverty, losing food security, and being forced into displacement after already suffering from years of conflict.

Solution

The project will support at least 50 affected farmers by providing seedlings, organic fertilizers, and agricultural tools to rehabilitate burned lands. Training on fire prevention and resilient farming methods will strengthen farmers' ability to face future risks. Community awareness sessions will promote collective preparedness, empowering villagers to protect their lands and livelihoods. Together, these efforts will restore both agriculture and hope.

Long-Term Impact

By restoring orchards and supporting farmers in Idlib, this initiative will revive agricultural production, secure household income, and reduce the risk of poverty and displacement. Farmers will regain confidence in their ability to recover, while the community as a whole becomes more resilient to natural disasters. Rebuilding these orchards means rebuilding stability, dignity, and hope for Syrian families who depend on the land to survive.
