Sewing a Future - Because of You

By Yasmina | Project Leader

Dear Supporter,

Because of your generosity, women across Syria are finding new ways to stand on their own feet and rebuild their lives with dignity.

Freedom Jasmine has been implementing a sewing and tailoring training program designed specifically for women who have become the primary breadwinners for their families. In the midst of hardship, these women are being given something powerful — the skills to create income and move toward financial independence.

Through hands-on training, participants learn essential sewing techniques, from operating sewing machines to cutting fabric and constructing garments. What begins as a practical skill quickly becomes a source of confidence and self-worth, as women realize their ability to produce, earn, and provide.

Many of the women who complete the program go on to start their own small businesses, creating and selling handmade clothing within their communities. This not only helps them support their families but also strengthens the local economy and creates a cycle of resilience and growth.

Beyond the skills themselves, the program builds connection. Women come together, share their experiences, and support one another through challenges, forming a strong community rooted in empowerment and mutual encouragement.

Because of you, these women are not just surviving — they are rebuilding, creating, and leading their families toward a more stable future.

With sincere thanks,

Freedom Jasmine Organization
