Help Syrian Women Rebuild Their Lives

We are pleased to share an update on the Phone & Laptop Maintenance Training Program recently completed in Idlib.

From November 2023 to January 2025, our team at FJO successfully trained 25 women from vulnerable households — including widows, female heads of families, and women with missing spouses — in essential technical skills for phone and laptop maintenance.

This program equipped participants with hands-on expertise in:

• Hardware repair

• Software troubleshooting

• Data recovery and device protection

Beyond technical training, this initiative addressed a critical challenge facing women in northern Syria: the lack of safe, trustworthy repair options. Many women fear taking their devices to male-operated shops due to risks of harassment, privacy breaches, or cyber-extortion.

By training women in these skills, the program has created secure, women-led repair options that protect community members’ privacy and dignity.
