Dear Supporter,
We are deeply grateful for your continued commitment to uplifting vulnerable communities. Thanks to your generous support, Freedom Jasmine Organization successfully implemented “In Their Absence”—an art-based awareness initiative dedicated to honoring the families of forcibly disappeared individuals in Syria.
This project offered a meaningful and compassionate space where survivors could express their grief, share their stories, and connect with others who carry the same pain.
Key Achievements of the Initiative
• Art Exhibition
The exhibition showcased powerful drawings created by women whose husbands or sons have gone missing. Through their artwork, these women conveyed profound emotions of trauma, longing, and resilience—turning their personal suffering into a collective call for recognition and justice.
• Awareness Sessions
Alongside the exhibition, a series of awareness sessions engaged community members in discussions about enforced disappearances, the rights of affected families, and the urgent need for justice and accountability. These sessions helped deepen public understanding of the crisis and encouraged informed community dialogue.
• Community Engagement in Turkey
The event brought together civil society representatives, activists, and local community members, creating a supportive and inclusive environment. This diverse participation fostered solidarity and strengthened the advocacy efforts for families still searching for their loved ones.
Impact of Your Support
Increased Public Awareness of the ongoing issue of enforced disappearances
Empowerment of Families through a platform that validates their pain and amplifies their voices
Strengthened Advocacy for justice, accountability, and the protection of human rights
Your support made it possible to transform art into healing, awareness into action, and silence into a shared demand for justice.
Thank you for standing with the families of the disappeared and for helping their voices be heard—especially when their loved ones cannot speak for themselves.
With gratitude,
