In a rural area of Aleppo, Samar’s struggle unfolded in silence. When her husband was forcibly disappeared and his fate remained unknown, she became the sole provider for her three children. Alongside the emotional burden, Samar faced a devastating legal reality: land registered in her husband’s name — land meant to secure her children’s future — was legally inaccessible due to restrictions surrounding the property of the forcibly disappeared.
Despite working tirelessly to feed her family and keep her children in school, legal barriers blocked every path forward.
That began to change because of your support.
Through legal awareness workshops and specialized consultations provided by Freedom Jasmine, Samar gained the knowledge and guidance needed to navigate a complex legal system. Step by step, she learned her rights and how to claim them.
With this support, Samar achieved a critical breakthrough — securing the legal right to use and benefit from her husband’s land.
She acted immediately.
By leasing the land to a local farmer, Samar created a stable source of income for her family. The first earnings allowed her to cover essential needs and ensure her children could return to school. Watching them hold their new schoolbooks, she understood that reclaiming legal rights had restored something far greater than income — it restored hope.
Her husband’s fate remains uncertain.
But Samar’s resilience transformed his absence into strength, and legal empowerment into protection for her children’s future.
