Dear Supporter,
Because of your support, we are able to create safe spaces where women can better understand their rights and reclaim their sense of justice.
On April 5th, a new group of 18 women gathered for a session that reshaped how they view their relationship with the law, particularly in the context of justice and accountability.
The session introduced the concept of reparations as a fundamental right for victims of human rights violations — not an act of charity. Women explored the five recognized forms of reparations: restitution, rehabilitation, compensation, satisfaction, and guarantees of non-recurrence. A key takeaway was understanding the difference between humanitarian aid and legal compensation, and that they are entitled to both recognition and redress.
To strengthen this understanding, the session presented international legal frameworks in a clear and accessible way, including Syria’s commitments under key human rights treaties. This helped participants see that these rights are not distant ideals, but obligations that already exist.
The session also included private consultations, offering a safe and confidential space for women to raise personal legal concerns and receive tailored guidance.
Thank you for making this work possible. Your support helps women move from uncertainty to empowerment, equipping them with the knowledge and confidence to claim their rights and rebuild their lives with dignity.
