Dear Supporter,
In communities affected by years of conflict and displacement, many women continue to carry unanswered questions, painful experiences, and a deep need to be heard.
Recently, fourteen women participated in a legal awareness session focused on reparations and transitional justice. The session provided information about victims’ rights under international law, the different forms reparations can take, and the responsibilities states hold toward affected communities.
But beyond the legal discussion, the session became a meaningful space for dialogue and reflection.
Participants openly shared concerns they had carried for years:
How can victims seek justice when legal systems remain inaccessible?
Can international justice mechanisms truly respond to their realities?
And who acknowledges the losses and suffering their families endured?
For many women, this was one of the few opportunities where their experiences and questions were listened to with seriousness and respect. The discussion encouraged participants to speak openly about their fears, frustrations, and hopes for accountability and recognition.
Following the session, several women also received individual legal consultations to discuss personal cases privately and receive tailored guidance and support.
These activities continue to show that access to information, legal awareness, and safe spaces for dialogue are essential steps toward restoring dignity, strengthening participation, and supporting affected communities in their pursuit of justice.
