Help Syrian Women Rebuild Their Lives

In a crisis, good intentions are not enough.

A vulnerable person may need urgent support—but without the right knowledge, an unsafe decision, a delayed referral, or a misunderstood risk can cause further harm.

During the fourth session of our training program, participants explored the principles that guide safe and responsible humanitarian protection.

They worked through realistic scenarios involving women with disabilities, families searching for missing relatives, and children without official documentation.

For each case, they were challenged to ask the questions that matter most:

Who is facing the greatest risk?

What type of support is needed?

And how can that person be connected safely to the right service?

A central part of the session focused on safe referral pathways. Participants learned when a case should be referred, which services may be appropriate, and how to protect the dignity, privacy, and safety of the person seeking help.

This knowledge is especially important because many of these women will later train and support others in their communities.

Thanks to your generosity, they are not only learning how to identify vulnerability—they are gaining the practical skills needed to respond responsibly when someone’s safety is at risk.
