Project Report | Jul 23, 2026
They Were Asked to Name Their Strengths

By Yasmina | Project Leader

Dear Valued Donor,

For many women living with disabilities, displacement has added new barriers to lives that were already demanding.

They are often spoken about in terms of what they need, what they cannot access, or what they are unable to do.

In the final session of this project, we asked a different question:

What are you capable of?

The women returned to explore self-care and personal resilience in a way that reflected their own realities—the pressure of displacement, limited access to support, and the daily challenges of living with a disability.

The conversation did not minimize how much they carry.

But it also made space for something that is too often overlooked: their strength.

During the closing activity, each woman was invited to write down her personal qualities, skills, and sources of resilience.

At first, some struggled to begin.

Then the pages started to fill.

Patience. Courage. Creativity. Determination. The ability to care for others, adapt, endure, and keep moving forward.

For women who are often defined by limitations, seeing their own strengths written in front of them became a quiet but meaningful moment of recognition.

Thanks to your support, these women were given more than a place in a training session.

They were given a space where their experiences were understood, their voices were heard, and their abilities were valued.

At Freedom Jasmine, inclusion is not a box to check.

It is a promise that no woman should be excluded from the care, dignity, and opportunities she deserves.

Your generosity is helping women see themselves not through the barriers they face, but through the strength they carry.

With heartfelt gratitude,
