This Month, 65 Families in Latakia, Syria, Felt the Difference

By Yasmina | Project Leader

Dear Supporter,

Because of your generosity, more than 65 vulnerable families in Latakia, Syria, received food and essential household supplies to help them through an extremely difficult month.

Many of these families are still living with the lasting impact of the conflict and the 2023 earthquake. Behind damaged homes and unfinished recovery are mothers and caregivers doing everything they can to keep their families safe, fed, and cared for.

Each household received a basket containing essential food items, including rice, sugar, oil, tahini, legumes, and canned goods, along with shampoo, laundry powder, and personal hygiene supplies.

These were not symbolic distributions. They were practical essentials intended to support a family’s basic needs for an entire month.

The women who received this assistance are the sole providers in their households. Some lost a husband or child during the conflict or the earthquake. Others are caring alone for family members with disabilities, carrying every responsibility without a reliable safety net.

Together, these families represent approximately 300 people whose month became more manageable because you chose to help.

We also want to be transparent with you.

Our goal was to reach 100 households. With the funding available, we were able to support more than 65. We are deeply grateful for what has already been achieved, while remaining committed to reaching the remaining families in the next phase.

We also hope to provide psychosocial support sessions for women who continue to carry grief, trauma, and the full responsibility of their households.

Thank you for putting food on tables, essential supplies in homes, and reassurance into the lives of families who have endured so much.

Because of you, more than 65 families in Latakia, Syria, faced this month with greater dignity, stability, and hope.

With heartfelt gratitude,
