Dear Valued Donor,
On June 3, 22 women in Daraya came together for the first session of Group 10 — a session focused on understanding where the law begins and what rights can mean in real life.
The discussion introduced key principles of international law, including treaties ratified by Syria and the right to remedy. But the most important part came when these ideas were connected to the women’s own experiences.
What does rehabilitation mean when there is no clinic?
What does restitution mean when the family home has been reduced to rubble?
These are not abstract legal questions. They reflect the realities many women continue to face.
The session helped participants better understand their rights, the legal foundations behind them, and how these principles can support future claims for justice, recovery, and dignity.
Following the group session, individual consultations were also provided to women who needed more personalized guidance and support.
Your contribution helped make this possible.
Because of your support, women affected by years of conflict are gaining not only knowledge, but also a clearer understanding of the rights they can claim and the pathways available to them.
Thank you for standing with them and for helping turn legal knowledge into practical empowerment.
With gratitude,
