"Help the Babies Grow Healthy"

Dear Friends,

As in the rest of the world, Covid-19 pandemic has affected whole life in Turkey and with the ongoing increase in the Covid-19 cases, it will continue to have serious impacts on the population as a whole. Particularly the vulnerable groups, the individuals who have inadequate access to basic services and who have poor economic conditions are more at risk.  As a result of the quarantine measures access to livelihoods have been limited.  Many people are laid off or forced to unpaid leave. With increasing unemployment rates and income losses, many families are lacking financial support.

After the first Covid-19 case was reported in March in Turkey we have adapted our working systems to continue carrying out our work remotely. Since then we have been continuing to provide support and service to our beneficiaries through digital channels and support their access to basic and essential services. As many families who reached our consultancy and support lines reported, poverty continues to increase. Due to insufficient resources,  meeting basic needs has become much more difficult for many families and mostly these needs cannot be met.  

Thanks to your generous support amidst this pandemic, we purchased 67 baby kits. After the disbursement for the donations you made completed, we identified the most vulnerable families with babies under covid-19 pandemic conditions with our field teams. We started the distribution of the baby kits in August and completed the distribution in September 2020. During the distribution of the kits, we took all necessary measures (inc. correct usage of face masks, maintenance of physical distance, etc.) to reduce risk of infection to protect both ourselves and our beneficiaries.

We thank you for your contribution and support when such support is needed the most. We will continue to distribute the baby kits that we will purchase with your support and to support babies in the coming months.

Dear Donors,

We have shared our last project progress report in February 2020. As we have informed you, thanks to your support we have distributed 15 baby kits in 2019. Since the beginning of April 2020, you have made many donations to our project. We are grateful to you for your support. We will be able to reach more families and continue distributing baby kits.

As per the GlobalGiving disbursement policy, we expect to receive our disbursement at the end of this month. After that, we will purchase baby kit materials and start distributing them as soon as possible. We will share our up-to-date project report with the photos of distribution after the distribution takes place.
