Help to feed Hungry and Malnourished children!

By Sumedha Sharma | Project Leader

Dear Global Givers,

Since our last report outlining our 'Help to Feed Hungry and Malnourished Children!' project, the new goal has been feeding at least 100 children every day. These young children are deprived of government-funded meals and live on the streets of India's capital, New Delhi.

Through your generous support, we were able to help provide 2 meals a day to these street children. A total of 12,178 Indian meals were distributed during these days.

The menu for these meals was carefully curated to the children's liking while keeping health and adequate nutrition a primary priority. For breakfast, each meal is specifically Macaroni, Egg Parantha (Fried flat bread), Sabzi Puri (vegetable and whole wheat flat bread), Bread Pakoda (Fritters), Bread and Jam with an apple, served with tea. Meanwhile, nutritious vegetarian meals were shared with these young children for lunch.

A thorough process was implemented to ensure that the food provided to children is of high quality. A staff member visually inspected and tasted the lunch before serving it to the children to ensure the quality of food was satisfactory.

Due to the children's preference for spicy food, it took a sufficient amount of work to maintain the quality and flavour of the food in the early stages of the initiative. As a result, children's opinions on the quality of their meals were routinely solicited. Furthermore, a daily record of the children who received meals was maintained.

While there were several obstacles, including the lack of opportunities to assist with regular hand-washes due to irregular running water at the location, and maintaining a disciplined decorum during food distribution, thanks to your goodwill, we could feed an average of 81 children per day.

While we continue to raise funds for our dear children on the streets, we hope to feed as many hungry stomachs as possible. Keeping in mind our target of feeding 1000 street children, we would love for you to join us in fighting hunger.

Let us make a social change together.

With heartfelt gratitude,

Team iPartner India
