Dear Global Givers,
iPartner India keeps on giving hope to the street kids of Jama Masjid, Delhi. With the advent of 2024, our commitment to combat childhood hunger remains unwavering. We are pleased to share an update on the progress of our ongoing project, ‘Help to Feed Hungry and Malnourished Children!’
The first quarter of the year has seen sustained efforts to provide nutritional support to these young lives. Amidst the commotion of street life, where hunger is a constant companion and meals a luxury, we have ensured that children receive two nourishing meals every day. The project has been a dependable pillar for the children, whose families, often involved in labour work, are caught in a relentless struggle for survival.
The period from January to April 2024 was marked by determination and resilience. On average, 99 children enjoyed a hearty breakfast for 88 days, summing up to 8,861 breakfast meals served. Lunch followed suit, with an average of 97 children benefiting from the midday meal over 96 days, totalling 9,428 lunches served.
Our journey has faced challenges. The post-pandemic recovery period laid bare the hardships of street life, with children waiting for the goodwill of outside eateries or queuing for government-provided meals that often fell short in quality and quantity.
Furthermore, our reach is limited by the resources at hand, and the plea to accommodate more children echoes in our ears as we grapple with the limitations imposed by funding. The heart-wrenching sight of children being turned away due to our capacity constraints reinforces the urgency of our mission. However, these obstacles have only sharpened our focus and strengthened our strategies to ensure that the children we serve receive their meals without compromise.
As we look forward to a hopeful future, it is with a humble heart that we acknowledge the shortfall in offsite donations which currently limits our capacity to feed every hungry child in our care. Your continued support is crucial in bridging the gap, ensuring that the promise of a daily meal does not remain unfulfilled for these children.
With the deepest gratitude and renewed resolve,
Team iPartner India
