The Clinical Training Center for Family Planning (CTC4FP) wants to recruit smart, committed and motivated volunteers to train as Healthcare Providers who can help support an estimated 132,000 people in Mambanda Douala (including 700 IDPs) displaced from North and South West Regions of the Republic of Cameroon. We and our generous partners are already supporting 35 IDPs in their basic needs, vocation training, capacity building and career mentoring.
Healthcare Providers working in urban and rural areas Cameroon have limited skills and knowledge on how to provide basic health care including Family Planning and Contraceptives (FP//C) methods, and also perform some life saving procedures in simple emergency situation. This causes unnecessary deaths and complications in the line of duty. Also IDPs find it difficult to integrate into their new host communities.
The trained providers will work to provide FP/C methods, medication and treatment to people of all ages including IDPs from North and South West regions in Cameroon, first time mothers and their infants. To ensure sustainability, we will equip our facility with modern medical equipment. The small treatment fees collected from the patients already treated will be used to pay the community health care Providers and also provide IDPs basic needs.
Your donation to this project will: 1) literally save lives in emergency situation; 2) provide medical training to 1500 providers and employment to permanent Community Health Care workers; 3) purchase medical equipment for the health facility, 4) assist in the construction of a permanent training center for the community; and 5) provide IDPs with income generating activities to improve their well-being. Once their mind open up, they will be confident that they can also contribute to the society.
