In the past three months, Whisper's Magical Children's Hospital and Maternity registered 2,282 patients. Of these 429 patients needed emergency blood transfusions. The high number of anemic patients at our Hospital is mostly caused by severe malaria and sickle cell disease.
The hinderances in the transport sector caused by the lockdown in Uganda may have caused a lot of deaths especially in the Eastern region because so many of the anemic patients we registered had an HB below 5. With the support of our beloved donors, we managed to pick most of the anemic children whose parents contacted us for provision of transport.
Your donations to this project helps us to create good partnership with Blood bank Jinja. This is achieved through providing them with extra support in form of human resource. Whisper employs staff who assist in organising blood donation camps. We also provide fuel used for taking the donated blood to Kampala in Nakasero Blood bank for screening.
We thank you so much for giving a helping hand by donating to this life saving project.
