Way Home Foundation runs the Street Football program in Ukraine since 2004, utilizing street soccer as a tool for social rehabilitation and intervention for people in crisis. Our Ukrainian national street soccer team has achieved remarkable success at the Homeless World Cup in the past and has taken part in 2023 World Cup in Sacramento. We are seeking funds to train and support our team formed from combat veterans in Ukraine, ensuring their participation at this tournament in 2024.
Homeless World Cup is aimed on reintegrating people in crisis into society, not only homeless, but all people who face social exclusion, marginalization, post-traumatic syndrome and lack of opportunities. The street soccer team's participation in the Cup will also help to increase attention of the world community to the humanitarian situation in Ukraine and to the problem of rehabilitation of combat veterans. We could demonstrate how unbreakable Ukrainians are in the face of challenges of war.
We seek funds for the Ukrainian national street soccer team's preparation and participation in the Homeless World Cup 2024. In 2009 in Milan, our team became the World Champion at this tournament. You can directly contribute to the team's training, equipment, skills development, and travel expenses. This endeavor will not only enhance the participants' physical and mental well-being but also promote the ideals of social inclusion and solidarity through the universal language of sports.
Your support is a powerful signal of solidarity with Ukraine. By competing on world stage, the Ukrainian soccer team demonstrates the potential for transformation through sport. The story of each of our players is a story of incredible lust for life, willpower and dignity. Your donation will help to demonstrate the amazing potential inherent in every person, regardless of past struggles. It will inspire them to overcome challenges and encourage others to believe in the power of second chances.
