In developing countries like Nepal, oral diseases are the most common problems due to a lack of education and poverty. The most common dental problem of the Nepalese is dental decay and periodontal diseases. The underserved community is not getting oral health care at all. This project would be helping about 5000 people living in remote villages by providing awareness, prevention, and treatment of Oral Diseases. The primary beneficiaries will be school children and underprivileged. Thank you!
Oral diseases have a significant impact on the health and well being of the national through pain, morbidity, and mortality and through the lost capacity to undertake school, social and economic activities. Oral disease, dental caries, is the most common disease of childhood and one of the most common ailments of adults. Oral cancer is one of the leading causes of mortality and morbidity and is the most common form of cancer in men and the third most common cancer in females.
The primary aim of this project is to provide high quality, effective, essential oral health care to underserved communities in the project area. This includes the emphasis on promotive, preventive, curative, and rehabilitative care. Particular emphasis is placed on the development of human resources for oral health, the development of appropriate curative care, the development of preventive and promotive strategies, and as a particular focus on the improvement of oral health.
This project will help to aware and educate the children about the oral health, reduce the incidence and prevalence of dental caries, reduce the incidence of oral cancers, reduce the incidence and prevalence of periodontal diseases, and reduce the disability and handicap resulting from oro-facial defects (cleft lips and cleft palates), which will help to establish happy and healthy families. After all, SMILE and HAPPINESS matters the most.
