Summary

Nationwide lock-down, a shattered economy and an uncertain future- the coronavirus outbreak has brought the world to a halt. However, wild animals oblivious to lock-down or our funding challenges continue to venture into human habitations. Our teams are attending to constant wildlife displacement calls from our project sites. Moreover, orphaned individuals undergoing rehabilitation at our rescue centres require constant nurturing before they go back to the wild. We seek your help to continue.

Challenge

The world is fighting an unforeseen challenge in the form of COVID-19 pandemic. This global health emergency and its consequences on the economy has impacted civil society and our organisation is no exception. With focus shifted to human welfare and health sectors, wildlife and nature conservation have taken a back-seat regardless of the critical link the natural world has to human health. This has led to a major drop in funds supporting our essential services to wildlife.

Solution

Our teams across India continue to handle several cases of wildlife emergencies with the local forest departments. This includes conflict cases involving a tiger, an orphaned rhino calf, 5 leopards, 3 injured elephants, and 13 poisoned vultures so far. We are also taking care of over 30 individuals - elephant and rhino calves, vultures, bears, leopards etc. at our rehabilitation facilities in Assam and Arunachal. Your support today is crucial for us as we strive to keep wildlife #Foreverwild.

Long-Term Impact

At present, the world faces a peculiar and uncertain crisis situation. Your contribution today will ensure sustainability of our rescue operations as well as our rescue centres which require constant financial support. We aim to save the lives of at least 3000 animals in the next three years to ensure they are returned back to the wild, where they belong.
