During 2026, Fundación Tiempo de Juego has continued creating spaces where children and youth can learn, connect, and grow through play. In Soacha and Santa Marta, our regular programs in soccer, basketball, athletics, music, and technology are offered twice a week and free of charge, reaching more than 600 children and youth on a regular basis. These activities help participants develop technical skills while also building their socio-emotional skills in safe and caring environments.
As more children and youth take part in our programs, the need for spaces where they can continue growing becomes even more important. That is why, in Soacha, one of our long-held dreams is finally taking shape: our new regional headquarters. We are now close to completing the first phase of construction at Santillana field. The improvements include new turf and fencing for the synthetic field, stands, bathrooms and showers for men and women, facilities adapted for people with disabilities, locker rooms, and a solar panel system. We have also added a garden and are currently building a gym area. Together, these improvements are turning Santillana field into a space our community can be truly proud of.
This progress is possible because of the people and partners who continue to believe in what we are building together. We are now beginning our second phase: administrative buildings to help sustain the foundation, "La Jugada," the bakery that supports the community, and dedicated spaces for additional activities for our children, adolescents, and youth, including music. This reflects our commitment to build a more self-sustaining future for the community we serve.
Both spaces help us create environments where children and youth can feel safe and discover their potential. After 20 years, we know that these opportunities can make a lasting difference.
With the active participation of our children and youth and the steadfast support of our allies, we can continue creating protective environments and investing in a future where play remains a powerful driver of social transformation.
