The Sondu Miriu River has burst its banks and several homes have been submerged, leaving the affected families in the cold. Many people, including children, the aged and People with Disability have been marooned in their homes, in Nyakach. Many families are now spending their nights at the local market centre without any proper amenities such as toilets and are unable to keep warm. We will be able to rent some spaces for the families without anywhere to go to and host them in those houses during this sad moments. Most of these household won't be able to get money for the shelters and would be just in the cold nights.
This project would make sure that at least 100 families are well taken care of in terms of shelter and medicine. At least 400 children would be able to keep warm and healthy from the water borne diseases associated with flooding. This would reduce the stigma associated with the impact of this disaster. at least 100 families would receive psycho social support from our organization personnel to enable them have well being during the moments.
