70% of children with cancer are treated in hospitals in our state of Sonora. Most of these children come from all areas of the northwest with their parents, or caregivers. The hospital in our area is the only one availlable with specialized medical resources and treatment , including chemotherapy. With this project we intend to give 2 meals a day,in our Soup Kitchen, which we call " SULAM" meaning Stairway To Heaven, and including help to pay for bus fair,or housing expenses,ect
Most of mexico sends sick children to Sonora.Many agricultural states have pesticides which are used on the crops,so this type of chemical has an impact on the increased amount of child cancer in our region. For this reason,most of the families leave their jobs,and homes to look for a better opportunity for their children in this city. Instituto Mexicano del seguro social IMSS does not fund any extra help, or can not pay for all the extra treatment the child needs.
With your donation, it will support over 100 children with cancer and help their familes / caregiver. This help will also allow us to give these children the nutrition they need whilist fighting their cancer, giving the families 2 meals day, as well as offering them personal hygiene kits, And also making sure they stay in safe lodging while their child is recieving care.
This project will reach the support of over 100 children and their parents, families, or caregivers, who could receive two meals a day. We are hopeing to give them 2,800 meals weekly, and 11,200 meals a month.This project would have a large impact in increasing meals and supplies. Allowing our foundation to fund treatment,meals and housing. According to UNO, children with cancer has increased by 13%. This project aims to continue helping children with cancer.
