Thanks for supporting Women Saving Amazon Wildlife

By Emily Knudson | Director of Outreach and Philanthropy

Summary:

Thanks to your generous support and a seed grant from Daughters for Earth, we have made significant strides in empowering women scientists and protecting the Amazon Rainforest wildlife. Your donations have enabled us to enhance station infrastructure, provide new research gear, and welcome our first 5 women scientists. These women have overcome barriers to conducting impactful wildlife research in the Amazon, contributing to improved conservation plans for endangered wildlife.

Milestones Achieved:

  • Improved Infrastructure: Your donations have helped us upgrade station facilities, providing a more conducive environment for research and conservation efforts.
  • Research Gear: The purchase of new research gear has equipped our women scientists with the tools needed to conduct their studies effectively.
  • Welcoming Women Scientists: We are proud to have welcomed our first 5 women scientists, who are now actively engaged in vital research projects.

Ensuring Sustainability:

While we celebrate these achievements, our work is far from over. To ensure the sustainability of our program, we need continued support. By donating, you can help us secure the future of women scientists in the Amazon, supporting their research and conservation efforts for years to come.

Supporting Ongoing Research:

Consider donating to our microproject "Zoonotic Pathogens & Endangered Pink Dolphins," led by Scientist Luisa Gabriela Diaz. This project focuses on researching WHO priority antimicrobial-resistant pathogens in the waters inhabited by Endangered Pink Amazonian River Dolphins and Giant Amazon River Otters. Your contribution will support vital research at El Jaguar Nature Reserve, addressing the critical intersection of wildlife conservation and human health.

Urgent Need:

We have only 20 more days to raise $400 to support this crucial research. Your donation, no matter the size, will make a significant impact. Join us in our mission to empower women scientists and protect the Amazon Rainforest.

Thank you for your continued support and dedication to conservation. Together, we can make a difference!
