Harvest of honey will be starting very soon in Burkina, a bit earlier than normal.
Last year was not a good year due to lack of flowers. This year in contrary looks like a good year for honey. Fruit trees have a lot of flowers: mango, cashew, shea and locust beans trees.
Last year about 30% of the beehives were without swarms. This year all have bees and wild swarms coming out of large swarm in beehives can be seen on trees, houses...
We expect a good harvest for 2025. This is good news for all the 170 beekepers out of 10 cooperatives who work with us. 70% of those beekeepers are women.
We expect that on average a beekeeper will get 150 US$ from his/her hives. This is double from what they got last year.
We still have a lot of demand for beehives from women in the villages.
