Challenge

While a good job lifts women out of poverty and oppression and helps stop the vicious cycle of exploitation, many survivors of human trafficking do not have the minimum education required to qualify for safe, good jobs. Trauma, poverty, and lack of family support are all barriers women survivors face in getting their high school diploma.

Solution

10ThousandWindows helps survivors of human trafficking complete their high school degree and get a good job by providing education scholarships, one-on-one and group counseling, and academic tutoring. This deep level of support helps survivors overcome trauma, graduate from high school, and land a safe and stable job.

Long-Term Impact

This project will help victims of trafficking graduate from high school and find stable employment. The income from a good job lifts not only the survivor, but also their extended family out of poverty and the threat of oppression.
