A year of success & our youth continues to flourish

By Cianna D. Hall-Benitez | VISTA Americorps

Dear Friends and Supporters,

Your constant support and contribution means a lot to all of us at Jovenes de Puerto Rico en Riesgo Inc. Thank you for making this possible for our youth!

Jóvenes en riesgo de puerto rico, has been hosting events for our youth throughout the Caney and we are off to a great start of the year!

These are the highlights of Nov 2022 to March 2023 throughout the Caney:

We are so delighted to share that at the end of 2022 we had over 6,000 youth who used the safe space, and Retention was 97%. In 2023 we had over 600 youth using the safe space, and 100% school retention.

A highlight from an event:

During the Sociocultural activity “Labyrinth Trip” of the Inabo Project, a young participant stated the following during his visit to the Finca Pastoreo in Dorado: “I would like to work here. I like animals and I would like to work with them.” The young man approached one of the farmers on the farm and he expressed his interest in working on the farm at some point.

The farmer replied that this is possible and appreciates that from such a young age he is interested in agriculture. Following that conversation, the farmer told him in front of all the other young people “you are an excellent representation of your group.”

As you can see our youth are motivated and encouraged more than ever due to the resources we are able to constantly provide to them.

We are so happy with the achievements that our youth are accomplishing! Lets celebrate that our youth are engaging in these amazing workshops. Thank you all for your support!

Let's keep making 2023 a year of productivity and being great role models to our youth!

With Gratitude,

Jóvenes en Riesgo de Puerto Rico, Inc.
