Helping Children from Ex-Sex workers in Thailand

Greetings from a very hot Pattaya!

We hope that all of you are doing good. Here in Thailand we have just started school again after the long holidays. Thailand follows a different Calendar than the rest of the world and so the main school holidays here are from March until mid-May and then in October there are another two weeks of holidays. One reason for this is the Thai New Year – Songkran – which is the biggest event in Thailand.

The Tamar Children enjoyed the long holiday and are now back in school – our Nursery Teachers are very happy about that – as their life is now a bit calmer… Last weekend we went with the whole Tamar Team to the Water Park here as an outing for the start of the new school year and also for the start of the 21^st Tamar Vocational Training. The kids (and we adults as well) had a lot of fun playing in the water as you can see in the pictures.

But now it is back to school, most kids were excited for the start of school but also now this joy is slowly disappearing already – it is very hot in Thailand right now and the homework has started as well. Some of our children have started school, some have moved on to higher classes. Some big changes are around.

Thank you very much for your support of our children. Through your support we were able to pay the fees for school uniforms, shoes, books, backpacks and all the other things that the kids need to start the new year. The mothers were very grateful when they were able to bring their receipts for the different items and we were able to refund them due to your generosity! Thank you!
