Greetings from Pattaya to you all! It is time to give you an update about how we at Tamar Center are doing - especially our children.
In the last weeks we had several fun activities with our children. A Team of professional Puppet Players came and visited us. They did several shows for our women and for our children. Everybody enjoyed them, and the kids paid a lot of attention – they had never seen something like this before. But the Team did not only do the shows for us – they also took the time, to train our Tamar Leaders in how to do Puppets and practiced some skids with them. They also left a selection of puppets behind – watch out for more performances from our Staff soon.
We are also very thankful for a Team from the USA that came and painted the Nursery. For a while we had wanted to get some animals on the walls and now, we finally have them! Hope you like them as much as we do. The Team did a great job and it is especially nice, is that they used paint that we clean without damaging it. So, the kids can touch the animals as much as they like. Personally, I like the Shark the most, but that might just be me!
We also employed a second Nursery Teacher at the end of June. She is working about 75% with us as we realized that in the moment the number of small babies that we have in our care is too big for one person to handle. She has fitted well into the team and now the workload is much more balanced and especially the older children profit from a second teacher, as now they are getting much more attention when they come back from school and we are able to run some special programs for them.
In Europe and the USA most people are enjoying currently their summer holidays – but here in the Thailand the schoolchildren are starting to prepare for their exams. Their midterm break is coming up in October and so September is exam time. Hope that they will have enough strength to learn.
Thank you for your continued support of our Children. The mothers really appreciate the extra help and we are glad that we can offer them a good care and fun activities. Thank you for making this possible!
