Greetings from Pattaya!
Hope you are all safe. Thank you very much for your continued support for the children at Tamar Center. These last months have been not easy for them and brought many changes. But let me start at the beginning:
During the last couple of months three new baby girls were born into the Tamar Family and we took one more woman with a small baby in. That means we have four new babies in our care and because of that had to hire a second full time Nursery Teacher. It took us while, but thankfully we have found the ideal person and now the babies are well looked after and enjoy their time at the Nursery.
For our other children the last months where a challenge – first the lockdown where they basically could not go out – and that for children that are used to go out all the time, than the easing of the lockdown and finally schools opened again - but schools did not open normally: Due to social distancing laws, some children can only go every second day to school and some can only go half days – other schools have shorter times, etc. It also changes all the time and the schools are also extremely strict about the wearing of masks, hand disinfecting and the children now sit at single tables with barriers around them – you can see in the picture below. (The other side is, that all restrictions for the public transport for the children to go to school have been lifted – as you can see as well. Not sure about the sense in that…) Not easy for them. Also, the school year has been adapted and for the next year they will not get a real school break - the schools are trying to make up for all the times that the school were closed.
The mothers of our children and the children all over the country from former women from us that we still support are incredibly grateful for the support that we sent them. Many lost their jobs or saw their income go down dramatically. The support that they receive helps them to pay for the school uniforms and books that the children need at the start of every school year.
The older children were also a big help to us. Tamar Center concentrated in the last months a lot on food distribution to the needy in Pattaya and the children joined and helped purchase the items and also helped with packing and distributing them.
Thank you, for helping our children and their mothers during these difficult times.
