Helping Children from Ex-Sex workers in Thailand

Hello everyone!

We have finally school holidays in Thailand - the Tamar Children are very excited. They had a couple of intense weeks at the end of February and the beginning of March with exams but now school is closed and there is holiday until the middle of May when the new school year starts! Exciting times – in order to celebrate with them, we took all the Tamar children, their mothers and everyone else at Tamar for a special outing. We received some discounted entrance tickets including a lunch buffet for a big fun park in Bangkok and so hired a bus and went with everyone for a very long day of fun!

Not sure if the mothers or the kids were more excited before the trip, but you can see in the pictures that everyone enjoyed it. There was a huge pool and many many rides for all ages – from simple ones for the small kids to roller coasters for the adults. We had a great day out and everyone enjoyed it. The drive back from Bangkok was very quiet as everyone was fast asleep!

During these school holidays we are split the children into two groups – the smaller ones are taken care of by our normal nursery and the older once we have moved out into the living room of one of our houses so that they can play better there. They enjoy their table tennis set and other activities.

We also have two more children joining during these holidays, as one of our women that joined Tamar at the end of last year has decided that it is better for her children to be with her. It is a big move for them, from the small village to the big City, and we hope that they will adjust well and fast.

Especially this month the women are very grateful to you, as a new school year also means that they have to purchase new school uniforms and other school supplies that are needed for the next year. Thanks to your support we are able to help pay these bills and provide all that is needed!
