Helping Single Thai Mothers Keep Their Babies

Our ICDP training has been a journey of heart-to-heart learning. We’ve been deeply moved by our Burmese parent group, whose punctuality and eagerness remind us how precious opportunities are to those who seek growth. While some of our Thai parents faced busy schedules this month, those who remained committed are already seeing beautiful transformations at home - becoming more patient listeners and nurturing stronger bonds with their children.

We’d like to share a touching testimony from Matt’s father. Caring for a child with ADHD can be exhausting, and he honestly shared a moment where his frustration almost took over. However, remembering the ICDP principles, he chose to step away and ride his motorcycle to calm down instead of reacting in anger. It’s a courageous step toward breaking the cycle of violence, and we are very proud of his progress.

Our Summer Camp, "Fun with Math," brought 11 children together for a screen-free adventure! It was wonderful to see them trading phones for friendships in real life, and choosing to use their time wisely. Beyond academics, we explored the "Samaritan" curriculum. We had a profound moment when a child questioned God’s love regarding gender identity. We were able to share the truth of God’s creation and reassure them that His unconditional love remains steadfast as they follow Him.

Amidst the joy of our summer activities, we received heartbreaking news. One of our bright students from Wat Sankayom School, who had always loved reading the Bible, tragically passed away in a drowning accident. While we were unable to attend the service in person, we have sent a financial contribution to support the funeral and stand in solidarity with her family in Chiang Dao. Please keep her grieving family in your prayers, that they may find God's comfort and peace during this incredibly difficult time.

We’ve been focusing our care on Phoebe, who is currently with her foster family. Her aunt and uncle have a young child of their own, just 3 years old, which can make it challenging to fully meet the needs of a third child. To help Phoebe feel cherished, we celebrated her birthday with a special meal. During Songkran, our Project Director's family also joined them for a trip to the beach to offer encouragement and serve as a supportive role model. We wanted to remind her foster parents that by providing Phoebe with a safe and loving home, they are a wonderful blessing in this little girl's life.
