Executive Summary

At Another Hope Children's Ministries, our directors pour their hearts daily into caring for orphaned and vulnerable children, guiding community development programs, and managing the ministry’s operations. However, for the past two years, they faced severe personal hardship living in a house without running water.

Thanks to the incredible compassion and generosity of our GlobalGiving donors, that season of hardship has come to an end! Your support enabled us to complete the roofing of their house and install a rainwater harvesting system, bringing clean, safe running water directly into their home.

This transformation has not only restored their daily health and wellbeing, but also freed up their time and energy to focus on what they do best: serving our children and community.

The Challenge: Two Years Without Safe Water

For over two years, the directors’ household struggled with a lack of running water. Simple, everyday household chores—cooking, cleaning, laundry, and personal hygiene—became daily struggles that consumed valuable hours.

Even worse was the quality of water available in the surrounding area:

• Unsafe Water Sources: The water collected from local surrounding points was dirty and contaminated.

• Health Risks & Illness: Family members frequently fell ill with preventable waterborne illnesses, causing distress, unexpected medical expenses, and lost time.

• Emotional & Physical Strain: Carrying out full-time ministry work while managing a household without basic clean water put an immense burden on the directors and their family.

The Solution: Roofing & Rainwater Harvesting

When our donors stepped in to support the "Helping the Directors Serve Better" project, we were able to address the root problem by finishing the house structure and installing a reliable water source.

Key Accomplishments Made Possible by Your Giving:

1. House Roofing Completed: Your donations funded the necessary building materials and labor to properly roof the directors' home, securing the structure against rain and harsh weather.

2. Rainwater Harvesting System Installed: We installed guttering and water collection tanks that capture clean, soft rainwater directly from the roof.

3. Running Water Indoors: The harvested rainwater was plumbed into the home, providing consistent, running water indoors for cooking, sanitation, and daily household chores.

The Impact: Improved Health & Better Service

The impact of this intervention on the directors' daily life has been immediate and profound:

• Drastic Health Improvement: Family members are no longer drinking or using contaminated local water. As a result, waterborne illnesses in the household have been eliminated, leading to healthier, happier family members.

• Restored Time & Energy: Household chores that used to take hours now take minutes, giving the directors more energy and time to dedicate to managing Another Hope Children's Ministries.

• Dignity & Peace of Mind: Having safe, clean running water inside the home provides dignity, comfort, and peace of mind after long days of community outreach and child care.
