Our partnership with the Center for Suicide Awareness is an amazing and unique opportunity to reach people that are at risk of falling into crisis situations, or already there and needing a way out. What we are learning is that there are so many reasons why people are in a downward spiral, and how diapers can be one integral part of lifting them out.
One family we've been blessed to help is David's. David is a single Dad, with three young children. He's been dealt a few tough blows in life, including battling depression while trying to raise his young family. Meeting the basic needs of his children has been a challenge, and he's striving to put them first. Sadly, he's had to make the choice between his own medical needs and the diapering needs of his children. Because of extremely limited financial resources, he has had to reduce or skip doses of medicine he needs to keep him healthy and keep his mental health in check, all to pay for the basic need of diapers.
When he learned that he was going to receive a full kit of cloth diapers, he broke down, into tears. Tears of joy, happiness, relief, and more. Knowing that he was no longer going to have to worry about diapers is letting him focus on his health and wellness, as well as that of his children. In the past, he has questioned what kind of Dad he is, unable to meet the basic needs of his children. It's amazing the impact diapers can have. It's one less worry, one need solved. Thank you for your amazing support, and for helping David.
