For many young people in Myanmar, this is the reality. The Tekkatho Foundation puts resources in the hands of those who need them to most, helping them pursue an education no matter what their circumstances. Our MyLibrary devices are handheld and portable, containing thousands of digitized school textbooks and fun lessons

Challenge

Hundreds of thousands of young people living in Myanmar struggle to access the learning opportunities they need. Connectivity remains fragile in many areas of difficult physical terrain, such as rainforest or mountainous regions. Coverage in large swathes of Chin State, Kachin State, Shan State and Rakhine is poor or completely unavailable. By building tough, portable digital libraries that work without an internet connection, our projects deliver quick, effective solutions to this problem.

Solution

Our solution is to build self-contained digital libraries at schools, community libraries and refugee camps, connecting Myanmar's offline learners to the best of the world's open educational resources. Our libraries are packed full of school textbooks, videos, quizzes and games to help student learn. With your support, we can provide access to world-class educational materials to help people of all ages to gain an education and make a real change to their life chances

Long-Term Impact

We believe that improved access to educational resources will transform minds and opportunities, bringing about tolerance and enabling more fulfilling lives. The eTekkatho MyLibrary is a driver of change right across Myanmar. With the support of partners and donors, we are setting up educational infrastructures across the whole country so young people can benefit from the opportunities digital technologies bring wherever they study.
