Ludmila is 25 years old and one of the university graduates supported by the Acceder Estudiando program at MUJERES 2000.
She lives in a low-income neighborhood in the Buenos Aires metropolitan area, and a few years ago, she dreamed of becoming the first in her family to attend university. She enrolled in the Public Accounting program at the University of Buenos Aires while working part-time to help support her household.
For five years, Ludmila received a scholarship from MUJERES 2000. She was granted monthly financial support for transportation, study materials, and meals. But just as important was the close guidance of a volunteer mentor—someone she could talk to about her doubts, her study schedule, and her fears. That relationship was key to helping her stay on track during the hardest times.
In December 2024, Ludmila graduated as a certified public accountant. Today, she works at one of Argentina’s leading banks and dreams of continuing her studies in the field of social economy.
Her story shows what this project makes possible: enabling young people from underserved communities to access, persist, and graduate from university. Thanks to your support, more students like Ludmila are building a different future.
