This initiative is dedicated to advancing human rights in Lesotho, with a specific focus on children and victims of any injustice. We act as catalysts for change by promoting, protecting, acting for, documenting and reporting human rights violations and abuses, advocating for justice, ending impunity, and fortifying the self-protection of human rights defenders who come under threat specifically "local news reporters".
In Lesotho, women and children get raped and killed every day. Our elders are accused of witchcraft, young people die on streets while making everyday survivals. We counted dead Basotho employees who were shot and killed by foreign employers (Chinese). The State is lawless to those who have political or financial power. The poor remain in custody and serve hush sentences. Justice is not served in Lesotho as over 70 suspects died at police custody, GBV-F is rough and state is not doing much.
As Front Line Human Rights Defenders, we implement what we call PPDRA: protect, promote, document, report and act for the rights of women, children and victims of any injustice in Lesotho. Our clients are catered for legal fees, hospital fees, counselling fees and transport fees. We also go extra-mile by finding a secure place to hide a victim from perpetrator while the issues are being resolved by the relevant stakeholders.
As PPDRAs in Lesotho. We envision a society where women and children are valued as important part of humanity; where every young person is free from exploitation and all forms of violence, production and reproduction. We envision Lesotho that is free from human rights violation and abuse, we strive for the improvement of Lesotho justice system. Our human rights reports frame the services we provide, influence law enforcement and the policy changes we lobby for the country.
