We wanted to take a moment to thank you for being part of something truly special this holiday season and to share an update on how it went. Thanks to your generosity, the Blue Atlas Project was able to partner with farms and organizations in Western North Carolina and Eastern Tennessee to make sure families had fresh, nutritious meals for the holidays.
With the help of local organizations and farms; like Montgomery Sky Farms, we helped feed over a thousand people full holiday meals! Allowing people in the depths of recovery and rebuilding, a warm feast prepared with nutritious (and local/regional when possible) vegetables and meat protein. It was really special to be able to serve food, full plates (and seconds!) that we knew was healthy and wholesome. In times of such heightened stress, the body needs as much support as possible to operate. We were also able to donate food to relief shelters for the communities we couldn't serve in person.
Because of supporters like you, hundreds of families were able to gather around warm, nourishing meals this season. We focused on reaching those hit hardest—low-income families, the elderly, and others facing financial hardship. Beyond the meals, this project was about bringing people together and showing what a strong, caring community can accomplish.
Your support made all the difference, and we’re excited to keep working with farmers to help create more local food systems. We hope you’ll continue to include the Blue Atlas Project in your annual giving and allow us to reach even more families.
Thank you for standing with us and making the holidays brighter for so many.
With gratitude,
Kali Kirkendall
