Aparis CDP is a grassroots that campaigns to build a safe home for homeless children in Aparis village to provide a comprehensive support system to children, addressing their basic needs for food, shelter, and education Our goal is to reconnect these children back to their families and those who have lost their parents to give them a new home, education and health care.
Street children face hunger and malnutrition, limited access to healthcare, exploitation and abuse, lack of education and skills. At least over 400 minors are homeless in Kumi, There are all kinds of children, but what worries us most is the rising number of very young ones, 120 children are under three and that number is increasing fast, as is the number of single mothers with children.
Our program is calling on donors to help us build a new home, including one unit, room for street pregnant girls, Mosley under 18 and new mothers. We are calling for strong measures now, because this situation has gone on far too long. Pupils are about to start school and many may spend the entire year without a roof over their heads.
The project serves street children and orphans to help lift them out of poverty. Its aim is to create an environment where children and community can grow up healthy and their rights are protected. Child homelessness leaves deep scars. It can lead to delayed schooling, health problems and, in some cases, dropping out altogether. It's about their future - and it's about ours too.
