As the elderly and the sick are often exempt from any form of social and health care in Bosnia and Herzegovina, we want to point out the difficult status of this population and give our contribution in solving their problems. We currently have 150 beneficiaries in the Sarajevo Canton territory who do not have health insurance and who are socially endangered by buying the necessary medicines, diapers, orthopedic aids as well as by providing food rations. The duration of the project is 12 months.
According to the results of the 2013 census, about 14 percent of the population in Bosnia and Herzegovina is over 65 years old. Most of these people are in poor health. Usually these are people who are immobile and poorly mobile. Many of these people do not have close relatives, they do not have people to help them with their daily tasks. This project would include 150 people living in the Sarajevo Canton.
As the elderly and the sick are often exempt from any form of social and health care, we want to point out the difficult status of this population and give our contribution in solving their problems. We want to provide them with the safest and most comfortable age. We support people who do not have health insurance and who are socially disadvantaged by buying the necessary medicines, diapers, orthopedic aids as well as providing food rations.
During the implementation of this project, we will also promote our activities with the aim of raising the awareness of our fellow citizens. The project employs professionals and volunteers. Users will be visited according to their current condition and needs. Medical and social services are provided free of charge, and the criteria for selecting patients are not conditioned by their ethnic or religious affiliation.
