BALAJOTHI CENTRE FOR THE DISABLED
PROJECT # 24535 – HOME FOR 150 DISABLED ORPHAN KIDS AT MYSURU, INDIA
REPORT DUE ON : FEB 9, 2018
DATE SENT : JAN 29, 2018
Homeless people in Vancouver, British Columbia, have a new way to find nighttime accommodations. A local charity, RainCity Housing, has created specialized benches that convert into temporary shelters. The back of the bench pulls up to create a roof that can shield a person from wind and rain. At night, these sleeping spaces are easy to find because they feature a glow-in-the-dark message that reads : THIS IS A BEDROOM.
As much as food is important for survival a good shelter is equally important for the welfare of mankind. As population keeps increasing the world over so also the need for shelter. This applies, and more so, to the disabled and the orphaned. All over the world governments and social service agencies are striving to provide this vital need through various methods.
Even at the lowest level Balajothi is working ceaselessly to create a small but effective way to contribute in this vital service. Passionate and committed to the core, we are fighting against odds to get a piece of land which can be a haven to the underprivileged so they can live out their lives in peace and in harmony with nature. We need one acre of land which would be just sufficient to meet this need and we need your support to achieve this.
Against the projected cost of $75,000 we have raised, from your generous giving through GlobalGiving, donations of $2554.25 to date. We are grateful to you for donating to this project despite adverse economic conditions.
Because of the size of funds required every dollar contributed will help. Your generous donation is very encouraging and also a motivation to others to donate in a similar manner. We understand that while some projects are small and are achievable in a short period of time, Balajothi’s SNEHAGOODU (nest of friendship) is one which may take longer time, unless a donor comes forward with a substantial funding, and this is what all of us at Balajothi are praying and hoping for …!!
