Update on Provide a home to 150 special children in India

(Project #24535 from Balajothi Centre for the Disabled)

Funding goal $ 75,000 / Funds raised to date $ 12,192.39

Project report due on Apr 22, 2024 / Report sent on Apr 13, 2024

Dear donor,

This is an update on the progress being made on providing a permanent home for special children in Kolar Gold Fields (KGF).

Discussions have been going on for some time, with officials of the Mining Department, Government of India, to buy a bungalow, which was used by the British mining officers, when the gold mining work was in progress.  After the gold mines became defunct over a decade ago and the Britishers left the country,  these defunct bungalows will be hopefully sold for prices fixed by the mining authorities.  We are in the process of collecting information on the availability and suitability of such places.  More information will follow in the coming months.

Balajothi has opened a branch office in KGF to monitor the progress of this development and also to continue working with our special children there.

We thank YOU, DONOR, for your generous support to this noble project of providing a home to the homeless underprivileged children.  Through your sacrificial giving we have been able to raise $ 12,192.39 to date as against the projected budget of $75,000.  We have a long way to fulfill this dream and we hope to reach our destination at the earliest with your continued support.  As a temporary measure children homes are set up at our various CBR areas.

Balajothi thanks GlobalGiving for their continuing support to this noble cause by raising funds from across the globe, even during the pandemic period.  We pray for their safety and well being in their dedicated efforts to bring relief to the needy and underprivileged community.  Thank you GlobalGiving !!
