Balajothi Centre for the Disabled Trust, India, is a registered trust founded in 2004 to provide special education, therapy, health services and rehabilitation to poor children with special needs.  We are located in Bengaluru, South India and our efforts are focused on children with autism, mental retardation, cerebral palsy, learning disorders, speech impairment etc.  Briefly speaking, our doors are open to any child with any disability, irrespective of color, caste or religion.

 As we reach the end of 2018, yet another year of mentally rewarding activities revolving around the disabled community, we want to thank YOU, donor, for your great role through GIVING to our various projects, and particularly to this wonderful cause of PROVIDING A HOME TO 150 SPECIAL CHILDREN IN INDIA.  With deep humiliation we acknowledge the receipt of $ 3658.70 which you have so generously donated to support this project.  The project has caught the attention of the people at large and we are being approached by several families with special children, young and old, for a place. 

A residential home, especially for the intellectually challenged, has placed an enormous responsibility on us but we are happy to thrive on this challenge because of our confidence in your generosity and support through your giving.  We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for this support.

We hope and pray that the new year 2019 brings to our doorstep more children who are in need of a safe and secure home, and also many more supporters from around the world to meet the needs of these inmates.

When I talk about special children I refer to intellectually challenged children who are helpless to such an extent that they are unable to take care of themselves without support.  Even for their basic needs such as toileting, brushing, bathing, dressing and eating they need help. They can never be a part of society of normal human beings, and as a result their lives become cheerless and miserable till death eventually claims them.

Society has a responsibility towards such helpless children.  While in developed countries the State takes care of such persons through institutional support, in India such support system needs are yet to be strengthened.  As such, private institutions and individuals, through their own efforts, endeavor in their own small measure to support precious lives, which otherwise would be lost for ever.

Balajothi does this very same thing, in a very small way, by providing shelter to the helpless, needy and underprivileged children.  All needs of these children are met, in a loving manner, through caring persons who serve as their caregivers.  They help them in all their daily activities and, more than anything, they are there to help in any manner, when they are needed, at any point of time, round the clock.  We are proud and happy to be doing this because we see the reward on their faces, in their eyes, when they smile, when they hug us, when they trust us with their lives.

You, DONOR, have been a great supporter of this cause, and through your generous contribution of $3213.70 (and counting) we have been able to provide the much needed shelter, peace and happiness to these hapless children.  A friendly environment and affectionate fellow beings go a long way in making them happy in their long and dreary march through life. A small start has been made by renting an apartment in a gated community where all the necessities are provided in a comfortable and safe environment.  For your part a mere dollar per head per month from every member of a household would be sufficient to feed, clothe and provide a happy life to these children.  By this small but significant involvement you will certainly bring about changes of such magnitude that the world will eventually turn out to be a heavenly place.  Thank you for making this happen !!
