The continuous increase in number of special children has posed a challenge to society in providing permanent respite care to severely disabled children. These children are in dire need of life-time care and support without which they will surely perish. This type of care is long term and quite expensive.  Most of the families are economically backward and lack the resources required to provide the right care.  It is unfortunate and inhuman that most of these children are kept locked up in their homes and lead miserable lives.

Arjun (name changed) is a sixteen year old boy with special needs from a poor destitute family, with no father, and a mother who is struggling for a living.  Arjun has been taken into Balajothi’s home where he has been learning to do things, helping with simple jobs, and generally making himself useful.  From being a miserable child from childhood days, he is now quite happy and loves his life in the Home.  He is one among the several abandoned children being looked after by Balajothi.
